Which paper do you need?
| Paper type | Best for |
|---|---|
| Staff paper | Melodies, lead sheets, theory homework, any single-line instrument. |
| Grand staff | Piano and keyboard parts, harp, choir reductions. |
| Guitar TAB | Riffs, fingerstyle arrangements and solos for six-string guitar. |
| Staff + TAB | Lessons and arrangements where you want notation and fret numbers together. |
| Chord diagram grid | Writing down chord shapes, alternate tunings or a song’s chord chart. |
| Lyrics & chords | Writing songs by hand — a dashed line for chords above every lyric line. |
Printing tips
- Print at 100% / Actual size so staff lines keep their spacing.
- Fewer staves per page leaves more room for lyrics, fingerings and teacher’s notes under each line.
- For TAB, the six lines read from the high E string at the top to the low E string at the bottom.
- Chord boxes show six strings and five frets; mark the starting fret beside the box if a shape starts higher up the neck.
Questions
Is the blank sheet music free to print and share?
Yes. The pages are plain staff lines, tablature lines and grids — print as many as you like for yourself, your students or your band. No account is needed.
How do I make sure it prints at the right size?
Open the PDF and print at 100% (“Actual size”). “Fit to page” shrinks the page slightly. Choose the same paper size in the generator as the paper in your printer: A4 in most of the world, US Letter in Canada and the United States.
Why are there no clefs on the staff paper?
Blank staves without clefs work for every instrument and clef. Write the clef you need — treble, bass, alto or tenor — at the start of each line. The grand staff layout groups two staves with a brace for piano music.
Can I get several pages in one PDF?
Yes. Set Pages to anything from 1 to 10 and the PDF will contain that many identical pages, ready for double-sided printing.
Does it work without an internet connection?
The sheets are generated in your browser. Once the page has loaded, creating and printing the PDF does not need a server.
